The Need For Red Language.
Our well-known controversial superstar communist philosopher Slavoj Zizek in one of his remarks on capitalism and crisis quotes, “The people feel free because they lack the very language of expressing their unfreedom”. By this he meant, the political structures today force person into instant action instead of a thought through steady process. A pandemic like emerging situation makes the things worse when the broken structures and shackles of political dominance expose at utmost the forms inducing violent thoughts into consciousness. The Black Lives Matter movement for example had a global impact because the people at extremes of their unfreedom in pandemic relate to the situation which a Black has been facing since the very creation of the United States.
Whereas in Balochistan when protests erupted against death squads, people came out against violence and were not violent at all. The masses represented civil community and the preserved culture of resistance against oppression, if we speculate through the lens of identity politics. But what after so many “Bramsh Yakjetti Committies”? Will people leave it at old rotten ideas and their enforcement as national cause? Or the organizations and members of civil society adopt a better strategy? this is for them to decide. Otherwise, in Zizek’s terms, they need the red language for expressing their unfreedom as violence is no option due to extremity of unfreedom.
Here by the red language i mean a political program is the requirement of the time for connecting the scattered Baloch masses. Can it be a PTM type model within Baloch? It could be. But that is for the political actions to decide, at least the ghost of A-Political is not here to haunt the dreams. The politically conscious youth maybe not willing for that instant action but the need of situation and hard power oppression is forcing them to take one. However that is for sure that the action which is to be carried out against violence cannot be violent itself.
Defence and survival is right of every individual in the world but when it is the world about which nobody gives a fuck, giving a fuck is essential. My fuck may offend you but the situation is quite fucked up which is why I have to say fuck … pardon my fuck!
Reconnecting the dots of this crazy sounding narration, I would just say that the BLM movement woke people up throughout the world against racism and the long running toxic believes. It had a trickle down effect and different levels of unfreedom met the will of resistance at different conditions. Each level from the first world to the barren lands and deserts, have the will to counter the oppression in common, either it be a Baloch or a Black.
