Nature speaks: Nadia Zahoor Shah
Our survival depends on the survival of nature for every creature dwells in it. Nature speaks when no one listens ownself. It gets lost within, but we, human beings, don’t know its worth since we are in dire need of our so-called needs, and if nature is destroyed, we too will be. However, it underpins our economy, our society, indeed our every existence, our forests, rivers, oceans and soils provide us the food we eat and the oxygen we breath, the water we drink and irrigate our crops. Nature is not anyone’s personal property, it is free from all, we need to take this for granted. Besides this, nature also needs people just as much as people need nature. We are all part of this global system, and hence we should work in a partnership with nature because it benefits us and gives advantages to our planet where we live. If we talk about the animals, they provide us food for both men and plants. The biggest example of nature is trees, they create rain and trees are the lungs of nature since they are the homes of animals.
Trees help us in many ways and they are the creator of Allah the Almighty. Moreover, nature plays an important role for human beings. Forests play a vital role in the development of a country. They are considered as natural resources. Forests are the beauty of a country, and according to the experts, forest should cover at least 25% of the total areas of the country. But unfortunately, in Pakistan only 4.5% of the total area is covered with forests, but these forests are not safe and they are being cut down every day.
We find several people cutting those trees which are helpful for us and other living creatures in all the way. Nature is the only thing which makes us mentally and physically relaxed. But sad to say that cutting trees is as fast as planting them. If we keep doing this then very soon we can see the green forest into deserts, but we don’t want that to happen, so we should not cut the trees and take care of them and plant more and more trees everywhere we can. Thus, we should immediately prevent that and plant as much trees as we can for trees also contribute oxygen, improving amelioration, conserving water, supporting the wildlife and therefore we need to care for everything in our environment so we are to make our nature beautiful and healthy.
