If pages of Baloch history are flapped up, it can be found that history of Baloch is replete with many leaders who sacrificed their entire life for the mother land and nation. One of them is shaheed Banuk Kareema Baloch who was assassinated in Cannada on 21.12.2020. Her assassination has compelled all Baloch to raise their voices against murder and stop genocide of Baloch not only in Pakistan but also in foreign countries. The chant of justice for Kareema Baloch is popular in all streets and fueling the ongoing social movement for justice.

Whenever a large number of people get together and resist against anything in society is called a social movement. The campaign “Justice for Banuk Kareema Baloch” converted its shape to be called a social movement. Because this campaign has a clear motive and goal which is justice for Kareema Baloch. This movement was initiated from the day when the news of Kareema Baloch’s brutal murder came out from Canada.

The protests and resistance movement for the justice of Kareema Baloch are being held throughout the globe and even all provinces and cities of Pakistan. Beside this the voice “Justice for Kareema Baloch” is also being chanted throughout the mass media whether that is print, electronic or even social media. This campaign is being run by students, advocates, politicians, activists, children, women and all walks of life people throughout the globe.

The strongest voice was heard in the social media which sustained for almost three days as the most trending event in Twitter. However, the people across the globe are just demanding justice for Banuk Kareema Baloch and raising question on the status of the international refugees’ convention of 1951 and its protocol of 1967.

Because this convention urges the safety and protection of any refugee who left his or her country due to any serious threat. The brutal murder of Banuk Kareema depicts that Canada is failed to provide protection to the refugees and implement the international laws of refugees within Canada.

Her brutal murder raised many questions in the minds of people that activists are not safe in any region of the world. Banuk Kareema Baloch belonged to a society which was tied upon the patriarchal, male dominated, tribal and cultural structure. Beside this the code of conducts of the society revolved upon the male dominated thinking which always pushed the females to the walls.

Females never participated for achieving the social, economic, cultural and political rights of the people. But Banuk Kareema Baloch opened the eyes in such a society and was brought up in a similar society and confronted all the difficulties bravely and proved that females are not less than the males.

Banuk Kareema Baloch was the one who mobilized the youth of Balochistan and Baloch across the country for their rights and justice. The way she mobilized the youth was considered to be the most effective methodology for the social actions. Kareema from her very life struggled for the rights and justice for the oppressed and victimized people and she was the voice of every Baloch throughout the world.

She never kneeled down in any situation and confronted for the rights and justice for every Baloch on any forums where she got the opportunity to fight. And she was nominated in the 100 most influential women of the world by BBC in 2016.

This proved that her struggle, courage and determination was acknowledged by the every esteemed institution of the World.
Indeed, Banuk Kareema Baloch proved herself and remained alive forever in the hearts of every Baloch. Her struggle, courage, determination and self-efficacy became strongest lesson and symbols for Baloch nation. She always supported the oppressed, victimized group across the region.

Kareema is not Kareema rather Kareema is the name Baloch movement which goes on till the goal and aim which had for the Baloch and Balochistan.
